BOTANIC COTTAGE, EDINBURGH

Originally built in 1764/1765 the original cottage was erected in Leith Walk where it stood for a couple of hundred years, approximately 10 years ago it was dismantled and placed on pallets for storage and in 2015/2016 Conservation Masonry in conjunction with esteemed Edinburgh Architects Simpson & Brown were tasked with re-building the cottage in the grounds of the Botanic Gardens.
The re-build took the best part of 9 months with every feature stone where possible being re-positioned in its original position, it is now used for education, community sessions and public events by the Botanic Gardens staff.
