ARDEER CHURCH

Ardeer Church is a perpendicular gothic sandstone church situated in Stevenson, Ayrshire. It remains one of the few structures inclusive of turret and battlement towers. In 2014 Conservation Masonry Ltd were awarded the Main Contract to carry out extensive stonework repairs and a complete overhaul internally to this place of worship.
The Architect Hippolyt Blanc had a distinctive outlook when designing such structures and this is clear upon this building, in particular the octagonal tower that is a perfect addition to the street scape of Stevenson. The replacement of the sandstone tracery windows was a fine example of pure craftsmanship carried out by Stone Masons within Conservation Masonry Ltd in tandem with the reconstruction of high level ornate stonework internally restoration works were carried out to a strict specification with care and attention to detail bringing this gothic structure back to life.
